Welcome!

In June 2008, we received twelve portfolios from Maarten and Elles van Hoek (left).
The albums contained thousands of photos and drawings of prehistoric rock art in the UK and Ireland, taken by Maarten and Elles during their numerous field trips to Great-Britain and Ireland from the late 1970s to the 1990s.
The 1069 pages were scanned in a high resolution. In the time to come, the photos will be published on our main website:

At this website, the rough pages of the albums can be enjoyed, be it in a lower resolution.
Most of the pages are searchable through a keyword (name of the site).
Some of the photographs have been taken by other people (for instance by Warwick Peirson from Yorkshire) and have been generously donated to Elles and Maarten. But after almost twenty years it is often impossible to find out the authorship of those photographs. If anyone notices his/her photograph and wants to be acknowledged, please contact us.
